Deployment & Commissioning

From installation to operational readiness

We manage the complete technology deployment lifecycle — from first cable pull through system burn-in and ORAT — ensuring every system is installed correctly, tested rigorously, and certified for operations before a single passenger arrives.

Technology is the last in, first blamed.

In airport construction, technology systems are typically the final systems installed — but they're the first systems passengers and staff interact with. Compressed schedules, incomplete civil works, and dozens of subcontractors competing for the same spaces create an environment where technology deployment is constantly at risk. Without disciplined project management and commissioning processes, systems go live with defects, gaps, and unresolved punch lists.

Structured deployment. Rigorous commissioning.

AirPort Nexus follows a structured commissioning methodology that begins during design and continues through an established endurance testing period. We coordinate all technology subcontractors, manage installation sequencing, and maintain a detailed readiness checklist that captures every component required for a successful opening. Our commissioning process includes Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) at vendor facilities, installation verification and inspection, system-level integration testing, user acceptance testing (UAT) with all stakeholders, endurance and burn-in testing under operational loads, and Operational Readiness and Airport Transition (ORAT) support.

A facility that works on day one.

Our deployment and commissioning engagements produce airports that are fully operational at opening: all technology systems installed, tested, and certified against design specifications. Complete as-built documentation and O&M manuals delivered. Staff trained on system operations and maintenance procedures. Warranty documentation gathered and submitted. Punch lists resolved and closed out. ORAT activities managed and successfully completed. We stay engaged through the warranty period to ensure any latent issues are resolved quickly and completely.

What this looks like in practice.

FAT & SAT

Factory and site acceptance testing to verify equipment meets specifications before integration.

Integration Testing

End-to-end system testing across all integration points and operational scenarios.

ORAT Support

Operational Readiness and Airport Transition management for seamless facility openings.

Training & Handover

Comprehensive staff training and complete documentation delivery at project closeout.
